Crash Bandicoot…does the name ring a bell? It should for anyone who was playing video games in the mid 90s. Gamers should remember this weird furry creature from his series on the original PlayStation. Well the developers at Naughty Dog were the brains behind the creature as well as the Jack and Daxter series on the PS2. Back in 07 when PS3 was slowly emerging from the 7th generation video game womb, it’s first true hit was Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. This was the first game to truly show off the raw graphic power the PS3 had to offer (oh, the water effects.). While the game was critically acclaimed, it seemed that it was missing that extra spark that would land it into “classic game” territory. Naughty Dog might claim that title with it’s sequel Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.
You can get information on plot, gameplay and that kind of stuff from the GT review. I just sat down with it for about 2 hours and found it pretty hard to pull away from. It’s incredibly well paced and just flat-out fun to play. While the first mission is a bit slow, once it takes off, it really keeps you engrossed. The spot on voice acting along with gripping (albeit pretty cliche) storyline will keep you playing. Oh yea, the gunplay and incredibly cool looking platforming gameplay ain’t bad either. Like the review says, this is a must have for any PS3 owner.
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is in stores now.
