After much anticipation and even more speculation, Google has announced their first official mobile phone, the Nexus One. Rocking a 3.7-inch touchscreen display and a 5-megapixel camera, the “Google Phone” is available today on T-Mobile & AT&T and later this year on Verizon. Read on for more details.
Thinner than a #2 pencil, the Nexus One promises 5 hours of 3G web browsing and 7 hours of 3G talk time; not on AT&T however, since it only supports T-Mobile’s 3G in the US. (Boooo!) It also shoots video and has a built-in one-click upload feature to send your videos directly to YouTube. The trackball may look like the same one you see on a BlackBerry, but this one has a multicolor LED which lights up differently for different notifications. Throw in GPS, an accelerometer, and a 3.5mm headphone jack among other features, it looks like Google just might have a hit on their hands. Available for $180 with a two-year contract on T-Mobile and $530 unlocked. Find out more from Google.
