We at The Gallant love a good idea, and this particular idea from Brooklyn-based Nonlinear Studio is almost ridiculously good in its sheer simplicity. You know how the sound quality on an iPad uniformly sucks unless you plug headphones in? Amplifiear nips that problem in the bud by directing the back-facing speaker’s sound forward. No more turning your iPad volume up to the maximum. Chatting on FaceTime or Skype, watching movies, playing music: the Amplifiear makes all of these iPad activities sound better. Plus, the design kind of reminds us of a gramophone.
Here’s the kicker: the Amplifiear project on Kickstarter needs $10,000 by May 12, and right now it’s at $7,500. Make this cool iPad tool happen and pre-order one from the Kickstarter site for $20.
