Nike Air Rift OG Colorway Retro

Friday February 5, 2010 by: Sarah

Probably one of the most comfy pair of shoes I own, I am forever labeled a ninja when I rock these. Nike launched the Air Rift in 1995 with this original colorway that paid tribute to the Kenyan running team. Not only the colorway, but the design was also originally created for the runners of Kenya, and inspired by the Great Rift Valley that cuts through Kenya. While the design of the shoe might seem a bit out there, the reasoning behind it was simple. At the time Kenyan distance runners ran barefoot, so Nike created a shoe that mimicked the natural movement and feel of the foot. Utilizing an ergonomic sole and a laceless neoprene upper that seems to hug the foot, the Air Rift does exactly that.  Released in limited quantities, you can try and cop them at Hanon.  $121.58
