On the 8th anniversary of 9/11, Jay-Z hosted a star-studded benefit concert at Madison Square Garden with all of the proceeds going to families who lost loved ones in the tragedy. The sold-out show kicked off with Jay performing the Big Apple’s new anthem “Empire State of Mind,” sans Alicia Keys. Ms. Keys was seemingly the only artist on the planet who couldn’t make the show however, with artists such as Kanye West, Rihanna, Kid Cudi, Santigold, John Mayer, Pharrell, Mary J. Blige, Swizz Beatz and Diddy joining the Roc-a-fella front man on the stage throughout the night.
