Ladies and gentlemen, today I am happy to post a new track from one of my favorite hip hop groups, Slum Village. SV has been on my radar since high school, when they blessed my ears with “Fall In Love.” It wasn’t until college when I really dug into their discography to appreciate their authentic approach to everyday topics. “Dope Man” features their deceased member, R.I.P. Baatin (front left in the picture), on the second verse and will be released on “Villa Manifesto Digital EP” which, as the title suggests, will only be released digitally. I had the pleasure of seeing three of the four members of Slum Village (R.I.P. J Dilla) perform last summer when Rock The Bells came to DC. The “Villa Manifesto Digital EP” will include more verses from Baatin and will be released December 8th. This digital EP will be released to curb their fans appetite until the full release, “Villa Manifesto” hits stores early next year, which is rumored to feature verses from all four Slum Village members.
