Today Norah Jones releases her fourth studio album, The Fall on Blue Note Records. The album features the single “Chasing Pirates,” which we gave you guys a few weeks ago, in addition to the video for the track. Early reviews of the album say that Norah’s sound has evolved from the jazz-heavy vibe she’s become known for, and adopts a more uptempo feel this time around. This is definitely the case on her lead single, so I’m excited to hear if it holds true for the rest of the album. I get the feeling that I’m a little more excited than everyone else for this album to come out, but oh well. For those of you who haven’t given her a chance yet, now is as good a time as any. The Fall is available today in stores and through iTunes.

John Mayer also drops his new album today, entitled Battle Studies on Sony Records. The album is a follow up to one of my favorite albums of the past 5 years, Continuum. So while I’m excited about the release, I’m personally not expecting it to live up to his previous effort—that album stayed on repeat on my iPod for months. If he can recapture what he managed to do on Continuum however, expect this to be an amazing album. Battle Studies is led by the single “Who Says” and is available in stores and iTunes as well. With Wale’s Attention Deficit still fresh in my iTunes, and Norah Jones being added today, this makes for a lot of good music coming in at the same time. What more could I ask for?
